Its a horrible idea. The promotional fantasy of revitalization, redevelopment, beautification is hogwash! The reality is that a few people will get together, acquire property that legally belongs to someone else, then resell that property at a huge profit. It's a new strategy, which means that there is little if any oversight by government. You look at the names of those weasels pushing for land banks and you will see the names of those involved in local government who have always promised something, delivered nothing and become even more wealthy along the way.
