CADIZ — The trial of a Harrison Hills City School teacher has been postponed once again.
Richard Prusha, of Scio, who was charged with fourth-degree felony menacing by stalking, has been on the "leave without pay" list after charges were filed following an alleged incident at Harrison Junior High School last year involving a student.
Prusha was a language arts teacher at the Scio school. He was originally charged in May of 2007 when parents of the student contacted officials in the Harrison Hills City School District concerning his behavior with their child.
An investigation ensued and he was later indicted by the grand jury.
Prusha was to go on trial in Harrison County Common Pleas Court on May 5, but the court postponed the matter.
According to Harrison County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Michael Washington the postponement will allow a civil case in the matter to continue.
A new trial date has yet to set.
If convicted, Prusha faces six to 12 months in prison and a maximum fine of $5,000.
