River upends Monroe

Travis Reisbeck launched two solo home runs and a single to lead River to a 3-1 triumph over homestanding Monroe Central Wednesday afternoon in Woodsfield.

Devin Potts singled in the other run for the Pilots while Terry Kirkland singled twice.

Ryan Kuhn singled and doubled for the Seminoles (14-7). Josh Turner had a pair of base knocks.

Ty Ash picked up the mound win, striking out four and walking the same. He allowed eight hits.

Ryan Highman suffered the loss as he fanned two and walked none before giving way to Sean Smithberger in the third.

Bridgeport 3

AT TORONTO, the host Red Knights (18-5) rode the strong pitching effort of Zach Stewart to roll past the Bulldogs at the Red Knight Complex.

Stewart struck out 13 and scattered five hits.

Max King homered and singled twice for the winners, while Mitch Ludewig added a home run and three RBIs.

Bryan Skoff singled twice for Bridgeport.

Indian Valley 10, Cambridge 0

AT GNADENHUTTEN, the reigning Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Class 4-A titlists were limited to one hit in falling to 17-8.

Trevor Markley recorded a double for the Bobcats lone hit.
