THE BRIDGEPORT Board of Education met Tuesday evening in special session and, after it was all over, everyone came away a winner.
The school board passed five resolutions, including one that showed that teachers, administrators and the board of education can work together to make Bridgeport a school district to be proud of.
The Bridgeport Education Association, the teachers' union, signed a two-year agreement while district Superintendent Mark Matz was given a new four-year contract to continue leading the school district.
"This new (BEA) contract," according to Matz proved, "negotiations went great and we all have a great relationship now."
The second resolution was to adopt a new administrative pay scale beginning this 2008-09 school year.
Al Dober was hired as an auxiliary band coordinator on a supplemental contract and the district added to the substitute list (classified) for the new year.
