ST. CLAIRSVILLE —St. Clairsville chapter 2994 of the AARP is presenting its annual Senior Fair of Fairs on Thursday, July 23 at the J.B. Martin Recreation-Senior Center.
The fair is for current AARP members and for anyone interested in joining the St. Clairsville chapter.
Jan Martin, St. Clairsville’s chapter president, wants anyone interested in joining the organization to give her a call at (740) 695-6273 and invites them to come down to the fair.
“There are a lot of benefits to being an AARP member,” Martin said. “We host a lot of functions and we have lot of good deals worked out with local retailers, like with Sam’s club.
“Our members can get a discounted membership.”
Martin encourages everyone planning on attending the fair to make a reservation.
The festivities will be limited to the first 200-250 people and the deadline to register is July 16.
Registration can be taken care of by calling Jackie at (740) 695-3497 or Linda at (740) 296-5112.
The J.B. Matin center will be providing a complimentary luncheon for all those in attendance, which is why reserving a spot is crucial.
The doors will open at 10 a.m.
Interim Healthcare and Baxter Pharmaceuticals will be on site to offer free alpha-1 testing for genetic chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Blood pressure screening and a whole battery of other medical tests will be available to fair patrons.
Booths will be set up providing information, as well as crafts, jewelry and candle displays.
Live entertainment will be provided, along with 50/50 raffles, door prizes and a super cash giveaway.
