BODNAR, William J., 76, of Rayland, Ohio, passed away on February 2, 2010, in East Ohio Regional Hospital, in Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Bill was the owner and operator of Bodnar Florist in Rayland, for 35 years. He was a graduate of Warren Consolidated High School, Class of 1951 and a graduate of Ohio University. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, a member of St. Josephs Parish, Tiltonsville, Ohio, a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, the Hungarian- American Cultural Society, William Penn Association, V.F.W Post 4811 and the Indian Club.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Helen (Jacob) Bodnar; a daughter, Sharon of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Joe (Lu Ann) Bodnar of Yorkville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sara, Joey, Cody, Kayla and Caleb; a sister, Marie (Larry) Fecske of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, in law, Marsha Simon and Anna (Frank) Noble; a brother-in-law, Mike (Connie) Jacob, all of Martins Ferry, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Bill and celebrate his life on Thursday, February 4, 2010, from 2-8 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio, with a Wake Service at 7:30 p.m.
There will be a Military Service conducted by the VFW Post 4811 Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. from St. Josephs Catholic Church in Tiltonsville, with Father Dan Heusel officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain Ohio.
