Wheeling Allstars named Cheerleading Champions

WHEELING - Eighteen area girls recently competed in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla. at the Wide World of Sports complex and came away as champions once again.

Coached by Diane L. Raab of Wheeling, The Wheeling Allstars were named Level 4 International Cheerleading Champions. There was a multitude of countries represented including Chile, Ireland, England, Equador, Columbia, Canada and the United States .

Following the two-day competition, they were named champions after tallying the two day totals. Wheeling Allstars went to Disney to try to defend their title, as they performed last year and were also name champions. They now own two International Champion titles.

Many hours of practice goes into the preparation to win a bid, and to have the honor of being selected to be a participant. They first qualified in Zanesville to be able to travel on to Florida .

Since returning from Florida, Raab has received emails from numerous coaches, complementing her squad for being such a gracious and talented squad. It was stated by a New Jersey coach, that after watching two days of competition, no other squad lit up the floor like the girls from Wheeling and that she will forever remember Wheeling .

This is not the only team from Wheeling Allstars to bring home a title from Walt Disney World, the Level three squad walked away with the title of Level three Runner up International Cheering Champions.
