Employers sought for ’11 Job Fair

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Belmont County Connections' One-Stop Employment and Training Center is seeking employers to participate in its fifth annual Ohio Valley Job Fair.

The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 6, from 1-4 p.m. at the J.B. Martin Recreation Center in St. Clairsville. Belmont County Connections, located at 302 Walnut St. in Martins Ferry, operates under the authority of the Belmont County Commissioners and the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services.

There is no registration fee for employers. Tables and table covers are provided. Previous job fairs have annually attracted scores of businesses and hundreds upon hundreds of job seekers.

"Our previous job fairs were great successes, and that is due to the much appreciated participation by our business customers," said Mike Schlanz, director of Belmont County Connections. "We're looking forward to doing it again in 2011 to help our Ohio Valley residents obtain jobs and to help our local businesses find good employees."

The job fair is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to meet with multiple employers in one spot. It's also a great opportunity for employers to meet with a large pool of potential employees.

Job seekers attending the 2011 Ohio Valley Job Fair are encouraged to make a good first impression and dress for success.

Connections partners also include the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Community Action Commission of Belmont County, Rehabilitation Services Commission, Veteran's Service, Belmont Technical College, Mid-East Career & Technology Centers, and the most important partner of all, the local business community.
