Riesbeck’s to open store at Toronto site

February 27, 2011
Times Leader

ST. CLAIRSVILLE Riesbeck Food Markets, Inc. and Stacey's IGA in Toronto have reached an agreement that will entail a transition of the store from its current IGA banner to a Riesbeck's conventional supermarket.

The facility, which is located at 1840 Franklin Ave. in Toronto, closed on Wednesday and will re-open this Monday under Riesbeck ownership. The store will undergo considerable interior changes involving product lines as well as minor fixture and equipment changes, according to President Richard Riesbeck.

"The Riesbeck management team believes strongly that the greater Jefferson County community is under-served in terms of full-service supermarkets, and we are pleased to be continuing the food retailing tradition of the Stacey family," commented Bill Riesbeck, executive vice-president.

Ed Stacey added, "We are extremely pleased to have a locally-owned company occupy the facility. After visiting other Riesbeck locations, we are convinced that their type of retailing will provide a welcome alternative to existing supermarkets in the area."

Operating hours for Riesbeck's in Toronto will be 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.

For more information, contact the Riesbeck Corporate Office at 740-695-7050, Ext. 135.
