Columbia Gas: Natural gas odor in St. C. to dissipate

June 15, 2011
dsp Times Leader

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Columbia Gas advises customers in the St. Clairsville area that an equipment malfunction has resulted in strong natural gas odors being reported in the area. An abnormally large amount of the chemical additive which gives natural gas its distinctive smell was injected into the pipeline system, and this could be the reason why some customers are smelling natural gas. These odors should go away as gas moves through the pipeline system over the next day or so.
