WOODS, Lucille (Stingle) Woods

WOODS, Lucille (Stingle) Woods, 91, of Wellington, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio died Friday, June 17, 2011 at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, Ohio.

She was born Nov. 26, 1919 in Dillonvale, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Rodgers) Stingle.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Martins Ferry, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, and kitchen chairperson for 35 years, also a member of the United Methodist Woman's Society.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow K. "Fat" Woods.

Surviving are her son, Calvin G. (Darlene) Woods of Wellington; two daughters, Dorothy Jean (Richard) McHugh of Wellington, and Cathy (Chuck) Pollock of Plain City, Ohio; a brother, Charles (Dorotha) Stingle of Smithfield, Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Ponti of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Dorothy (Alex) Vargo of Rayland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tiffany (Jason) Edwards of Johnstown, Ohio, Kyle (fiancee Traci) Scott, Alex Scott, Katherine, and Alexandra Woods, Victoria (Anthony) Rourke, all of Wellington, Christopher and Case Pollock of Plain City, Ohio, and two great- granddaughters, Lucy Elizabeth, and Remington Alece.

Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, where services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
