New doctor’s office opens in Colerain

August 28, 2011
By ROBERT A. DEFRANK - Staff Writer , Times Leader

COLERAIN Dr. Dan B. Jones, board certified family physician, has expanded his Cadiz based office and has opened a family medicine practice to Colerain. His office is based in a log-themed building located at 72562 U.S. 250 across from Hilltop Social Hall.

Jones, a Cadiz resident, added that he is a native of Colerain and attended school at the social hall structure when the building had served as a schoolhouse. His commitment to the area and its residents inspired him to set up a practice nearby.

"This is truly a homecoming for me," he said. "It's nice to go back to the area and provide a service to the community."

THERE’S A new doctor in town. Dr. Dan B. Jones is shown with wife Judy and daughter Rhiannon at Jones’ new office in Colerain.

Jones said he is qualified to handle medical issues from pediatrics to geriatrics. He noted the lab and three patient rooms. He is also proud of the unique log structure of his new office.

"Building a log home office has always been an interest of mine and you won't see another doctor's office quite like this anywhere," he said.

Hours are Mondays, 2-7 p.m. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.

In addition, starting in September the office will offer blood draw services sponsored by Harrison Community Hospital.

"This will mean that if you live in this area and your doctor orders blood work for you, you will no longer have to travel far distances to have your blood drawn," he said. "This service is available to all people in the community, no matter who their doctor is."

Tentatively, the lab will open Monday through Friday, 7-9 a.m. with possible expanded hours if the community supports it.

Jones credits Allen Bobot of BoProducts for his expertise in building custom log homes.

"Without him this project would have not been possible," Jones said.

Thanks also goes to Frank and Gary Zeroski of Zeroski Excavating, Darrin Young of D&E Electric, as well as friends and family.

Also, local art from Melanie Steffl and Ben Steffl-Thompson will be available for purchase.

Jones is married to Judy Jones of Adena. They have one daughter, Rhiannon.

An open house is set for Aug. 29, noon-2 p.m. All are welcome.

To make an appointment, call (740) 738-0020 or the Cadiz office at (740) 942-2742.
