WHEELING - The American Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Show will invade Wheeling this coming weekend, when the tribute to the music of two of rock'n'roll's most renowned bands unfolds on Friday at River City Ale Works.
Comprised of a group of veteran area musicians who have toured the nation, The American Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Show performs up to a dozen concerts per year, bringing the biggest audio and visual production they can afford.
"We're in this to build a huge show and have fun with the people who come out to watch us," said Daniel Welsh, lead vocalist for the group. "Everyone in the band has a fine resume individually from past projects. We run a clean operation on and off the stage and try to do an 'all-ages' show as much as possible."
In addition to Welsh - who handles lead vocal duties, plays acoustic and electric guitar, percussion and harmonica, the band includes Scott Patt on lead guitar and vocals; Tom Patt on drums, percussion and vocals; Gregg Molnar on lead guitar, acoustic guitar, piano and vocals; Ken Neel on bass guitar and vocals; and Sean Geery on piano, keyboards and vocals.
The group brings a laser and light show to complement the iconic rock'n'roll sound delivered through the music of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, and the two-hour-plus show includes many of the greatest hits by both of these Hall of Fame bands.
Friday's show at River City Ale Works kicks off at 9:30 p.m. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older. Admission is $10.
