First of all, I'm glad to see that Charlie Wilson is running for Congress in this next election. He is for the middle class and puts the needs of valley residents first.
Rep. Johnson is following the Republican party line instead of what is good for the country. Never before has it been more apparent that the Republican Party is the party of the rich. Instead of signing a pledge to Glover Norquist not to raise taxes on the rich, we need people in Congress that will do what is best for the country. The Republicans want the Bush tax cuts for the rich permanent, yet don't want to help the middle class with extending the payroll tax cuts or extend unemployment benefits.
Where are all the jobs created by the rich who have had these tax cuts for eight or nine years?
Where are all those who protested when Charlie Wilson didn't have a town meeting ?
Rep. Bill Johnson hasn't had any and I haven't heard anything from them. Unfortunately, I believe many of them were racist and were really upset that Pres. Obama isn't white.
It is also unfortunate that the Republican Party is doing everything they can to make things worse. They won't pass job bills or anything that will help the country.
Republican Senate leader, Mitch McConnell has stated many times the number one priority is to make Pres. Obama a one term president, as also has Republican Congressman Eric Cantor. To that end, they won't pass any bills that will improve things for the middle class or the country.
I have emailed Rep. Johnson and haven't ever heard back. A matter of fact, during the last election he called our house for "another donation." I told him we have never donated to his campaign and were for Charlie Wilson. He insisted that my wife had sent a check. I told him that isn't true.
He asked for my email address and said he'd either sent me proof via email or call me back tomorrow. He said either way, to proof he was right or that I was right, he'd let me know. He lied. We never hear or received anything from him.
We need more Democrats in Congress to help the workingman and residents of the valley like Charlie Wilson always has. He was very visible in the district while serving in Congress. I bet most people in this district wouldn't know Rep. Bill Johnson if they saw him.
