Boo in the Park

December 16, 2011
Times Leader

Dear Editor

We recently had our sixth Annual Boo In the Park.

There were almost 600 kids that went through this free event that had treats at 20 different stations, plus The First United Methodist Church had Trunk or Treat besides passing out hot chocolate and hot dogs, and the Senior Center passed out popcorn. We would greatly like to thank all of our sponsors, donors, and all who helped set up, man the stations, tear down and clean up.

This is a huge undertaking and without the help of many, it would not be possible. Those sponsoring stations and donating were Belmont Savings Bank, Dominoes Pizza, Reisbeck's, Primerica, Bellaire Hardware, Family Market, Gorillabear, JB Green Team, Chirps Auto Body, Bellaire Park District, MOS, Lou Delbert/ Snyder's Chips, Klempa Construction, Mc Donalds, Boo In The Park Committee, Belmont County Veterans Services, United Bank, Dr. Erica Booth, EMT Services, Belmont Community Hospital, Edens Auto Ranch, Sharon Seevers, Gattos, Ohio River Valley Elks, Electronic Recycling Center, Forest Hills Community Center, CJ Laroche Tree Service, Bellaire Harbor Services, Hanover Street Fuel Stop, The Spanish Club At St. Johns High School, St. Mary and Martha Guild of The Trinity Church and Octoberfest Committee. Please thank them when you see them.

I want to send out a huge thank you to Ed Duke for allowing Dave Maguire to bring the 6 wheeler and trailer down from the Martins Ferry Fire Department to give the hayrides. Everyone enjoyed them and we really appreciate Dave driving it all night. The movies were a big hit also and we want to thank Rikk Diamond for providing them for us.

The puppet show and magic show were also a big hit. Thank you to the Belmont County Sheriffs Office for furnishing the fingerprinting kits and to Mike Kovalyk for passing them out. We want to thank all of the workers that showed up and worked all day getting everything set up. They were Bernie and Shauna Walker, Bob Bennett, Bobby Bennett, Gloria Lemasters, Linda Davis, Wanda Miller, Janie Ware, Rachael Ware, Nancy Raeder, & Russ Meighen. Mark your calendars next year for October 23rd.

A Big Thank You Again
