Pipe Band celebrates Scottish heritage

PITTSBURGH - The Macdonald Pipe Band of Pittsburgh hosts its annual Burns Supper, honoring the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns with an evening of traditional Scottish food, music and dance, on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 123 Gilkeson Road, Mount Lebanon, Pa. Doors open at 5 p.m.; buffet dinner featuring steak pie and haggis at 6 p.m.

In addition to a tribute to Burns and his poetry, the evening features performances by the Macdonald Pipe Band, the Jacqui Pressley Highland Dance Co. and a traditional Celtic ensemble. A Chinese raffle and Scottish marketplace will be offered.
