As with the speed of light there is another constant that is indisputable; the vitriolic, inane ravings directed toward the idea, let alone the expression for the need to insure clean air and safe water.
Those who make statements such as "so called global warming", or "a job today is better than pristine air in the future" I'm sure believe what they say. Then there is U. S. Representative Bill Johnson who finds solicitude in mouthings such as "assault on coal jobs", which seem at the most gratuitous. He knows, or should know, that no amount of coal jobs will restore our manufacturing base.
We can deny global warming regardless of evidence to the contrary. But if the deniers are wrong-then welcome your grandchildren to 'Soylent Green'.
