Second annual Easter Seals event set for Saturday, March 24

WHEELING - It's not too late to get in on the excitement! Join us as we celebrate the second annual Easter Seals Stilettos & Steel Event at Wheeling Island's Showroom on Saturday, March 24.

Attendees will enjoy heavy appetizers, drinks, fantastic live entertainment and the opportunity to browse and buy from the area's top merchants. The event focus is a raffle with a winner drawn every five minutes for a variety of cash and unique prizes! The grand prize of $5,000 will be drawn at 10 p.m.

Admission is available through two package options. The $100 package includes 2 raffle entries, 2 entries to the event and 2 drink tickets. A $50 package includes 1 raffle entry, 1 entry to the event and 1 drink ticket. Those who can't attend, but still want to take a chance in the drawing may purchase a raffle entry for $25.

"Last year proved to be a great success and the crowd was simply amazing I encourage everyone to make Stilettos & Steel part of their weekend, it's an opportunity to not only enjoy a great night out, but to also help the thousands of kids we serve" shared Jess Puglisi-Sanders, community relations director at Easter Seals.

Guests will be entertained by some of the area's top local acts, and include: Matt VanFossen, Stack of Monkeys, Black Slaney and The Catch Blues Band.

Participating vendors are: Beauti Control, Forever A Masterpiece, Nini's Treasures, Kelly's Suite II, Foxberry Farms, Silpada, Lynn Buch Interiors, Amigami, That's the Spot Massage Therapy and Made in the Shade.

New and unique elements have also been added to help make the evening memorable a magician, caricature artist and a photo booth will be part of the fun thanks to WesBanco, a sponsor of the event. Other sponsors include: Wheeling Island, Lamar, WTRF, The Mix/Clear Channel, Strauss Industries, IOLA Club, HE Neumann, Main Street Bank, Project BEST, Citizens Bank, Blackburn's, Wine & Beverage Merchants of WV and friends of Easter Seals.

Best of all, 100% of the proceeds go towards the Easter Seals Telethon, slated for April 15. All funds provide uncompensated care for special needs children. Services covered include physical, speech and occupational therapy, autism testing and medical services.

"This annual event is a casual, fun way to engage our community. By joining us for a festive night out, individuals can feel good about giving directly to special needs children in the Ohio Valley that need help," stated Lorie Untch, President/ CEO for Easter Seals.

The Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit facility that provides physical, occupational, and speech therapies, early intervention/education, social work services, medical services and advocacy to individuals with developmental delays and disabilities. Easter Seals primary service area includes Brooke, Hancock, Tyler, Marshall, Ohio and Wetzel counties in West Virginia and Belmont, Monroe, Jefferson and Harrison counties in Ohio.
