A Cut Above the rest

A CUT Above Family Hair Salon opened its doors this past week at the corner of Hanover Street and Zane Highway in Martins Ferry. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday. Pictured, from left, are Chamber of Commerce Secretary Marian Klier, City Development Director Kathy Gagin, stylist Stefanie Cottrell, owner Chris Cole, Chamber President Dorothy Powell and Mayor Paul Riethmiller. Cole is a Martins Ferry native. A Cut Above features four stylists with 61 combined years of experience. In addition to Cole and Cottrell, the stylists are Lea Walsh and Cindy Smith. A Cut Above specializes in cuts, color perms, and facial waxing. The shop also offers extended hours for the convenience of its clients: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am. to 7 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments may be made by calling 740-738-0349.
