WICKOM, William "Bill", 88, of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his residence in Bridgeport, OH.
Born in Canton, Ohio on August 10, 1923, William was the son of the late Randolph and Mary Scheffler Wickom.
He was a retired 50 year employee of Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, where he served as the Superintendent for 30 of those years.
William was a former member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, a WWII U.S. Navy Aviation Radioman veteran, and former member of the Wheeling Elks, Wheeling Eagles, American Legion of St. Clairsville and V.F.W. Post 5356.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Camarda and two brothers, Charles and Daniel Borchart.
William had no known surviving family other than his loving dance partner and companion, Martha Winn of Bellaire, OH.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 11 a.m. to the time of service at noon, with Rev. Bryan D. Carpenter officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
