HOLYAK, George “Hawk” Richard, Jr.

HOLYAK, George "Hawk" Richard, Jr., 79, of Harrison Avenue, Cadiz, OH, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born November 20, 1932, on Blairmont Road, Adena, OH, a son of the late George R. and Helen Bodak Holyak.

He was a retired Adena police chief, having served for 16 and a half years. He was a coal miner for Y&O Coal Co., Nelms No. 1 mine in Unionville, OH. He was an Army veteran and a Methodist by faith.

Surviving him are his loving wife, Rose Marie Keyoski Holyak; three sons, George R. Holyak of Adena, Rodney J. Holyak of Cadiz, Ohio, and Gary L. (Jean Ann) Holyak of Cadiz, Ohio; two daughters, Debra (Robert) Dombroski of Adena, and Beverly Jo (Calvin) Leigh of Sparta, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Holyak of Adena, OH, and Larry Holyak of Maryland; eight sisters, Shirley (John) Utter of Adena, Sandra (Dave) Malichak of Cleveland, Carol (Ray) Jeskey of Adena, Ohio, Diane (Jim) Hornyak of Piney Fork, Ohio, Joan Donley of Cadiz, Ohio, Elaine (Al) Woolridge of Kentucky, Joyce (Mark) Anderson of Adena, and Linda (Lou) Bandyak of Piney Fork; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Drew McPeek officiating. Burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio
