ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The 13th annual Caregiver Support Fair kicks off Tuesday at the Ohio Valley Mall with more than 65 area exhibitors showcasing services for older adults and their caregivers.
The exhibits will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some of the exhibitors will provide free health care testing such as blood pressure checks, vision screening, blood sugar testing, oxygen saturation tests, middle ear function, cholesterol and HDL testing, posture screening, cardio screening and chair massage.
Information will also be available on housing options, advanced directives, volunteer services, in-home care, home health, nursing homes, Medicare and a wide variety of other care giving topics.

"With the growing number of elderly in our county, it's important to put this kind of information in the hands of the elderly and their caregivers," said Jeanette Wojcik, executive director of Faith in Action Caregivers and chairperson for the Caregiver Support Fair.
Once again, cake donated by Riesbeck's Bakery will be available throughout the day during the support fair at the mall, and musician Mark Statler will perform at 11 a.m. at the event. The Belmont County Commissioners will present a proclamation declaring May as Older Americans Month at noon, and the presentation will be followed by a fashion show.
The Caregiver Support Fair is a project of the Belmont County Adult Services Coalition which is sponsored by the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services. The Adult Services Coalition is a group of social service, health care providers and adult service organizations that meet monthly to coordinate support services for the adult residents of Belmont County.
The Belmont County Adult Services Coalition meets on the first Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. There are no dues to join the coalition, and membership is open to any company, organization or agency that provides services for the adults in the county.
