The 4th annual "Runnin' from the Cops" 5K Run/Walk is rapidly approaching.
The event, sponsored by the Martins Ferry Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 78, will be held on Saturday, June 9.
Race day registration is scheduled from 7:30-8:15 a.m., with the race beginning at 8:30. The pre-registration fee is $10 and includes a t-shirt. Race-day registration will be $12.

A limited supply of shirts will be available on race day on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration will take place at Butch Miller Quality Cars on South Zane Highway.
Checks should be made out to Martins Ferry FOP 78. All entries should be mailed to FOP Lodge 78, 35 South Fifth St., Martins Ferry, Ohio, 43935.
"We have begun the planning and organizing of this event to make it a continuing success," FOP Lodge 78 President Ptl. Ashley Boyd said. "As we remain committed to such a worthy cause, we hope that the community will be committed to us. All great events remain successful with great sponsors."
In addition to the Martins Ferry FOP Scholarship Fund, the FOP also contributes annually to the Martins Ferry Civics and the Martins Ferry City Schools Academic Awards program.
"These are two great and rewarding programs for our children," Boyd added.
Age divisions for the 5K Run and 5K Walk include: 19-and-under; 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-and-over. There are four different levels of sponsorship. They are: Chief of Police ($250 and up); Lieutenant ($100); Sergeant ($75); and Patrolman ($50).
