TWO people were seriously injured and were Lifeflighted to UMPC in Pittsburgh by State Medivac following an accident on Belmont 10 near Belmont 56 close to Maynard.
On Sunday, at 10:43 p.m. state troopers from the St. Clairsville Post responded to a one vehicle injury crash.
The investigation showed that the driver, Steven Macy III, 42, of St. Clairsville, was driving a 2007 Yamaha YFM350 ATV and was eastbound on Belmont 10 when it went off the right side of the road. The ATV went into a ditch and struck a set of mailboxes. The vehicle then overturned before it came to rest.
Macy and the passenger, Kelly Frazier, 41, of Lafferty, were ejected. Neither occupants were wearing helmets.
The Maynard and Barton volunteer fire departments were on scene. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
According to a press release from the State Patrol, Macy is listed in critical condition and Frazier in serious condition.
The crash is still under investigation.
