BRIDGEPORT - A daring robbery in broad daylight was interrupted when the home's alarm system went off Monday afternoon.
However, the thief got away as officers from the Bridgeport and Martins Ferry police departments, as well as deputies from the Belmont County Sheriff's Office responded to 67780 Kirkwood Heights Road at approximately 3:40 p.m.
According to reports, Bridgeport Officer Nathan Schaal was the first to arrive at the house. He reported seeing a suspect inside the residence holding a TV.

The suspect allegedly jumped through a window in the rear of the house and fled in a wooded hillside.
Ohio authorities called in the Wheeling K-9 unit, but the dog lost the suspect's track in the woods.
Officers were scouring the hillside along Kirkwood Heights Road to County Road 214 for much of Monday afternoon.
According to Bridgeport Police Chief Andy Klotz, there are no suspects at this time and the TV still hasn't been recovered.
