The Top Flite Junior Tour continued this past week and made two stops in the local area as events were staged at both Moundsville Country Club and Oglebay's Jones Course.
At Moundsville, Shadyside senior-to-be Adam Stupak and Martins Ferry senior-to-be Andrew Chlon finished tied for second in the 17-18 year old division with a solid round of 77. Their score was a shot back of Morgantown's Hunter Woods.
Eli Lambie posted a round of 79, while Wheeling's Jacob Carpenter checked in with a 80.
Martins Ferry's Taylor Shane posted a round of 81. St. Clairsville's Jared Burghy and Caden Myers shot 88 and 89, respectively.
Martins Ferry's Kaitlyn Bliss posted a 94 and River's Jason Miller shot 100.
In the 15-16 year old division, St. Clairsville's Seth Vannoy posted an 81. Wheeling's Jonathan Haley shot a 83.
At Oglebay's Jones Course, Vannoy posted another 81 to lead all area players in the 15-16 year old division.
In the older division, Shane, Lambie and Carpenter all posted rounds of 79. Stupak and Chlon finished tied once again with rounds of 84.
Burghy checked in with a 86, while Myers finished with a 90.
In an event, earlier this month, at Parkersburg Country Club, Wheeling's Dylan Wojcik shot an impressive 76 to win the 13-14 year old division. Wheeling's Kyle Wensel was third with a 78.
In the 15-16, Vannoy shot yet another round of 81. In the 17-18 year old division, Jeffries and Zach Keylor both fired rounds of 76 to finish in a tie for fourth.
Chlon and Shane shot 83 and 85, respectively. Myers checked in with a 87 and Burghy posted a 93.
ANOTHER junior golf event was held last Thursday at Willandale Golf Course in Sugarcreek.
St. Clairsville's Myers won the 16-18 year old division with a round of 74. He was two shots clear of Shadyside's Stupak. Buckeye Trail's Jessi Roe fired a 78.
Ferry's Shane was solid with a round of 78, while Chlon posted an 80. Riggenbach posted an 83.
ROBBINS RIDGE RESULTS
The Senecaville Senior League play was held again this past week at Robbins Ridge Golf Course. Ed Stavroff had the closest to the pin and Reid Koegler had the closest to the pin on the second shot.
The low gross went to teams of Stavroff/Mayberry and Millhoamn/Ullmann with rounds of 34. Low net went to Allender/Davis with 33.
WHEELING PARK GOLF CLUB
The Ohio Valley Awards event was held on June 13. Dan Willming won with a round of 33. Jim Ennis was second with a 33 and Art Lightner was third with a 33.
Joe Kosar - the Martins Ferry head golf coach - posted a 31 to win the handicap division. Justin Domyan was second with a 32.
Mike Brickner, Freddie Fitzsimmons, Tony Campbell and Dennis Porter posted a 47 to win the handicap division.
On June 21, the Cornerstone Group event was staged. John Artimez won the event with a round of 31. Gary Mercer was second with a 32.
In the handicap division, Bob Hoffman prevailed with a round of 25. Chris Bommer was second with a 29.
The inaugural Eric Gilmore Memorial Scramble was held last September and this past spring the committee presented its first scholarship to honor Gilmore, who passed away suddenly just a little more than a year ago.
The recipient of the scholarship was Aaron Goddard, who was a member of the Pilots' golf team and will be attending Zane State College to study political science.

BELLA VIA AMATEUR
The annual tournament was held last weekend at Wheeling Park Golf Course. Bryan Myers, who earlier that week had played in the West Virginia Amateur and placed 11th, won the overall title.
He also won the best ball by teaming with the aforementioned Eric Coe.
