The following communities are scheduled to celebrate the Independence Day holiday with activities during the day and public fireworks displays at dusk:
TONIGHT
City of Steubenville, a fireworks show is set for 9:45 p.m. following the second annual Stars & Stripes Concert. Those attending the concert can remain in Harding Stadium to watch the fireworks, which will be set off from the hillside above the Hollywood City Center near the Laurels Nursing Home.
Tuesday, July 3
Martins Ferry, the annual Sky Show at the Martins Ferry Schools campus will take place. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Deuces Wild will provide music. Event will feature vendors for food and games, and inflatable rides.
Oglebay Park, holiday festivities will be held on July 3-4. On Tuesday, activities include inflatable rides, a rock wall and Euro bungee at the Schenk Lake area from 1-5 p.m. The inflatable rides are $1 per ride and the rock wall and Euro bungee are $5 each. The inflatable rides, rock wall and bungee will also be available on Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. The fireworks will take place Tuesday at Schenk Lake, starting 9:30 p.m. with a special concert by John Denver Tribute Artist, John Adams, leading into the fireworks.
Wells Township, there will be free swimming from noon to 6 p.m. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be free until they are gone. The bike and ride parade will be held at 6 p.m. at the pool parking lot. There will be trophies for best patriotic bike, pet and ride (wagons and anything that is not a bike). The Fabulous Bender Boys will be performing at the North Elementary Football Field starting at 7:30 p.m. until dusk and the fireworks display will end the night. The Brilliant Little League will be selling refreshments.
Wednesday, July 4
City of Wheeling, the Wheeling Symphony and Maestro Andre Raphael will perform their annual July 4 concert at Heritage Port with Johnny Staats. The concert is free and open to the public. Concert-goers also can take advantage of several health screenings offered this year by Ohio Valley Medical Center. Event begins 7:30 p.m. with fireworks to conclude the evening.
City of Weirton, the annual fireworks display will take place at approximately 9:30 p.m. They will be launched downtown from behind the Weirton Fire Department headquarters.
Saturday, July 7
Seneca Lake, the annual Seneca Lake fireworks holiday celebration will take place with music and activities during the day and fireworks at dusk.
Village of Cadiz, annual Independence Day weekend celebration will take place July 6-8 with activities throughout the day, throughout the weekend at Sally Buffalo Park. Fireworks will take place at around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
