ST. CLAIRSVILLE Numerous sentences were handed down during yesterday's session of Belmont County Common Pleas Court. Judge John M. Solovan II presided.
Kipp Logan Green, 24, incarcerated, saw the revocation of his community control sanctions. He received a sentence of four months and 10 days. He was originally sentenced to 18 months for carrying concealed weapons, a felony of the fourth degree, occurring March 7, 2010. But the sentence was held. Green violated his community controls by consuming alcohol and cocaine in February.
Samantha Jo Monroe, 22, 53901 Wee Gee Road, Shadyside, withdrew herself from the drug court program and was sentenced to 36 months with credit for 239 days. She was originally sentenced for burglary, a felony of the second degree occurring March 19, 2010. She violated her community controls and is facing charges of drug possession, OVI and breaking and entering.
Michael Elijah Maleski, 22, incarcerated, saw the revocation of his probation. He was sentenced to 18 months in the penitentiary, deferred until pending charges are resolved. He was given credit for 327 days. He was originally sentenced for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the fourth degree occurring Aug. 27, 2010. He violated community controls and has admitted to possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to find employment and associating with known drug users or traffickers.
Wendy Ann Stasel, 27, 1633 Marshall St., Benwood, WV, was arraigned and pleaded guilty of two counts of theft, a felony of the fifth degree occurring Aug. 12 and 18, 2011. She stole more than $1,000 and less than $5,000 worth of merchandise from Wal Mart. Sentencing was set for Aug. 17. A pre-sentencing investigation, victim impact statement, and EOCC evaluation was ordered.
Brandon Michael Hocker, 24, 1866 Guernsey St., Bellaire, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree occurring Dec. 2, 2011. Sentencing was set for Aug. 17. An EOCC evaluation, mental health evaluation and victim impact statement was ordered.
Francis Eugene VanCamp, 42, 1 South Front St., Wheeling, was sentenced on one count of receiving a stolen car, a felony of the fourth degree occurring Jan. 13, 2011. He was given five years of community control sanctions. He will serve seven months in Belmont County Jail and five months at EOCC. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,186 in damage to the motor vehicle.
James Ashford Jordan, 25, 45321 Belmont-Centerville Road, Belmont, was sentenced on two counts of theft, felonies of the fourth degree occurring Dec. 26, 2011. He was given five years of community controls, including 12 months of intensive supervised probation and 48 months of probation. He was ordered to pay restitution of $8,500 to BBR Drilling, Inc., and $430 to Gabby Auto Salvage.
Wesley Aurther Heath, 28, 1003 Border Lane, Martins Ferry, pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the third degree occurring March 30, 2012. He faces a maximum of five years for each count. Sentencing was set for Aug. 17. A pre-sentence investigation, victim impact statement and EOCC evaluation was ordered.
He will be designated a Tier Two offender.
Cody Williams, 22, Gas Station Shippy Road, St. Clairsville, saw the revocation of his community controls and was sentenced to 120 days in jail after being terminated from EOCC. He was originally convicted of vandalism, a felony of the fifth degree occurring March 11, 2011.
Kody Vinka, 20, 4260 Franklin St., Bellaire, saw the revocation of his community control sanctions after failing to comply with EOCC. He will serve 24 months in the penitentiary. His original sentence was burglary, a felony of the second degree occurring Sept. 9, 2011.
Jessie Ryan Johnson, 24, 69390 Provident Road, St. Clairsville, was unable to come to a plea agreement and will go to trial July 24. He is charged with two counts of burglary, a felony of the second degree occurring Jan. 15, 2012.
Arjen Thompson, 34, 329 Westberty Circle, Tallmadge, will go to trial July 17. He faces one count of attempted unlawful conduct with a minor, a felony of the fourth degree occurring Aug. 10, 2011, one count importuning, a felony of the fifth degree, and one county offering to provide obscene material to an officer posing as a juvenile, a felony of the fifth degree.
