CURRAN, Patricia Glaser

July 11, 2012
Times Leader

CURRAN, Patricia Glaser, 80, formerly of Moundsville, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Twin Oaks Care Center, Mansfield, OH.

She was born January 13, 1932 in Bellaire, OH, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Ann Glaser.

Patricia was retired from Northern Panhandle Behavioral Health Center in Wheeling, a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where until recently she was very active in the parish both as a "pierogi lady" and as the cashier at the Lenten fish fries.

Pat didn't know a stranger and was loved by everyone she met. Her generosity and kind, non- judgmental demeanor made her a trusted confidant and friend. She has a lively and fun-loving spirit and loved playing the poker machines and sharing a cold beer with her friends. Her personality was so large that it is almost impossible to capture in words.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Curran; three sisters, Margaret Martin, Alma Jackson, and Kathleen Brady; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Martin and Fred Jackson.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynne (Fred) Leach of Raleigh, NC, Anne (Clayton) Rhodes of Mansfield, OH; two sisters, Ginny Zacher of Dunedin, FL, Martha (Laddy) Thomas of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, John (Susan) Glaser of Lake Worth, FL; a brother-in-law, William Brady of Chicago, IL; three sisters-in-law, Marie Curran of Richmond, VA, Margie Curran and Julie Curran both of Bellaire, OH; six grandchildren, Connor and Brendon Leach, Taylor, Curran, Evan, and Will Rhodes; many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where vigil services will be held Friday at 7 p.m.

Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, with Fr. Ranjan Ekka as celebrant.

Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 600 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV 26041.
