OWENS, Dorothy "Sue," 88, of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday July 12, 2012 in East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Sue was born March 4, 1924 in Connellsville, Pa. a daughter of the late Wesley B. and Anna Weltz Helms.
Sue was a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church Shadyside, Ohio and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #581 Shadyside, Ohio.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Donald H. "Red" Owens in 2009; a daughter, Sandra Abanathie; four brothers, Albert Helms, her twin, Arthur Helms, Wesley Helms and Paul Helms; five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Ritenour, Freda Garner, Alberta Upton, Clarissa Little and Anne Taylor.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Owens and his wife Earlene of Woodsfield, Ohio and Donald "Kevin" Owens and his wife Michelle of Pickerington, Ohio; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church, 3838 Lincoln Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio, Monday from 11 a.m., until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. with Reverend Randy Weaver officiating.
Inurnment follows in Powhatan Cemetery Powhatan Point, Ohio.
