WILSON, Robert G., 88, resident of Bethlehem, WV., died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at home.
He was born December 22, 1923 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Paul L. and Mary V. Garvin Wilson.
He was a retired director of the Wheeling Creek Watershed Commission and a retired district conservationist with the US Dept. of Agriculture. He received his BS Degree in Agriculture from WVU; He was past president of the Wheeling Jaycees, past state vice president of the WV Jaycees, past member of the Elm Grove Lions Club, active member of Presbytery serving on the Westminster Foundation, and was an Ohio County Volunteer Reading Tutor at Bethlehem Elementary School. He was a member of the Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church and a WW II Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean C. Taylor Wilson and a brother, Richard A. Wilson of El Paso, TX.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandra L. Marshall and her husband, John of St. Clairsville, OH and Carol V. Ridgely and her husband Paul of Wheeling, WV; a sister-in-law, Daphne Wilson of El Paso, TX; a special friend, Anne Kanick of McMechen, WV; several nieces and nephews Friends will be received Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242- 2311) where services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. with Pastor James Gear officiating.
Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
