The 14th annual Samuel A. Mumley Memorial Classic "Do It for the Kids" 5K Run/Walk will take to the streets of St. Clairsville on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 8 a.m.
Pre-registration is currently under way until Thursday, Aug. 9. The non-refundable pre-registration cost is $15 for either the 5K Run or 5K Walk. Checks can be made out to St. Clairsville Sunrise Rotary, P.O. Box 81, St. Clairsville, Oh., 43950.
Race-day registration is $20 and will be held from 7-7:45 a.m.

Runners, or walkers, will be able to pick up their race packets from 6:45-7:45 a.m. on race day.
The course starts and finishes in front of the Belmont County Courthouse on Main Street.
This year's race will be times by RS Racing Systems using a championship system. On race day, runners and walkers will be issued a race number with the timing chip attached to the race number. That will record the finishing time for each participant.
There are four divisions: 5K run male and female, and 5K walk male and female. Each division will have 14 age groups, with the top three in each age group receiving awards.
The top five overall finishers in each age group also receive awards. There is also a Mayor's Trophy, presented by Robert Vincenzo, to the top male and female finisher who hails from St. Clairsville.
In addition, there is a cross country 5K division for OVAC high school runners. The top five male and female runners receive awards.
A $1,000 scholarship will be randomly drawn for two OVAC runners. The award will be given upon graduation.
Serving as honorary starter is Shadyside native Jerry Narcisi, who is currently working as a consultant in public education, a part-time volunteer administrator for the Shadyside Local School District, a part-time school funding consultant to several state organizations and local schools, and a facilitator to several schools performing the Ohio Superintendent Evaluation System.
There will be pizza, snacks, beverages and door prizes. The first 500 entrants receive a free t-shirt.
