Bar brawl yields charges

• Shots reportedly fired outside Martins Ferry

MARTINS FERRY - Belmont County sheriff's deputies responded to Don and Pam's Bar on Belmont, Glenn's Run Road, for a fight early Sunday morning.

According to a deputy, a man identified as Ernest Rice, 42, of St. Clairsville, was involved in an altercation inside the bar and was escorted outside.

Later, Rice was spotted outside the bar with a gun and was allegedly pointing it toward the bar.

Two patrons from the bar went after Rice and a fight broke out.

During the fight, two shots were fired. Rice was arrested and was booked into the Belmont County Jail on charge of using a weapon while intoxicated and having a weapons on the premise of a liquor establishment.

His bond was set at $11,000.
