HOOD, Eugene "Gene" R., 74, of Sharon, PA., died August 10, 2012 of an extended illness.
He was born July 12, 1938 son of the late Clarence and Helen (Coss) Hood.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Gene attended Martins Ferry High School, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was employed by Sharon Steel Corps. for 29 years.
He was member of Sharon American Legion, and an avid Steeler fan. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and was a Methodist by faith.
Gene is survived by his wife, Janet (Maizlik) Hood whom he married March 3, 1966; four daughters, Connie Moroco and her husband Mike of Sharon, Debora Hood of Sharon, Anabel Szanny of Sharpsville, Teresa Wilson and her husband Curtis of Hinesville, GA; sister, Jessie Myers of St. Clairsville; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 11 a.m. Tuesday August 14 at the John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hermitage, PA until time of services at noon with the Rev. Dominic Verdell officiating. Military honors will also be conducted.
