Monroe Central's Lady Seminoles captured its season-opening match Wednesday evening over Bellaire. The Lady Noles prevailed by counts of 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15.
Chelsie Tewanger tallied 18 points, five aces, six kills and eight digs to lead the winners. Chelsie Roberts charted seven kills and two blocks. Cameron Brock and Melanie Stimpert recorded 10 and eight assists, respectively. Amanda Haslam totaled 11 points and three aces.
Bellaire stat leaders included: Melissa Cordy (10 points, 16 digs, eight kills, five assists); Tori Duffy (15 points, 10 assists); Lindsey McMahon (15 points, six kills); Mackenzie Conroy (13 points, five kills); Hunter Eden (10 points, nine digs); Taylar Canter (nie digs).

Ferry prevails at Harrison Central
Visiting Martins Ferry produced a three-game Wednesday sweep at Harrison Central, winning by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-19.
Ferry stat leaders included: Cassie Hanson (11 assists, four kills, nine digs); Shaina Oberdick (15 points, seven aces, 10 kills); Jesse Probst (seven points, eight kills); Morgan Carpenter (eight points, five assists); Shaye DeLeonardis (10 points, nine aces, five spikes).
Bridgeport outlasts Beallsville
Bridgeport's Lady Bulldogs needed five games to outlast debuting Beallsville in a Wednesday night match. The Lady Dogs prevailed, 25-23, 11-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10.
Bridgeport leaders included: Emily Nowakowski (11 points, 19 assists); Cheyenne Flowers (11 points, four kills); Jalynn Conaway (eight points, nine kills); Maclaine Murad (nine points, five kills, 10 digs); Brianna Massey (seven kills).
Beallsville was led by Allison Campbell (14 kills); Madison Stephen (12 kills, two aces); Laikyn Tubaugh (16 kills, five assists); Anna Jones (five assists, three aces); Rachel Emrick (31 assists, five kills).
River prevails over Caldwell
River's Lady Pilots outlasted host Caldwell in a thrilling Wednesday night match by scores of 15-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 17-15.
River's Annie Turner tallied 28 points and 25 assists. Brielle Williams slammed 14 kills and scored 13 points. Jensen Caretti contributed 11 kills. Hannah Jones charted 12 points and 10 digs. Mackenzie Marshall donated 10 digs.
Union Local drops pair in tri-match
Union Local's Lady Jets suffered a pair of Wednesday night losses in a tri-match at Magnolia.
Shenandoah scored a two-game sweep of UL. The Jets Sarah Sheppard charted six points, three kills and three blocks. Carly Schafer supported with five assists and three points. Anna Jo Nardo netted five digs. Megan Nagy donated four digs.
In UL's 25-21, 19-25, 15-25 setback to Magnolia, Schafer charted 16 digs, 10 assists and five points. Shayla Otto totaled five points, eight digs, five kills and seven blocks. Mikayla Patton produced seven blocks, four digs and three points. Sheppard slammed six kills. Kaylie Cole contributed seven points and nine digs.
