A CAMBRIDGE man was trapped inside his truck that had gone over an embankment on Ohio 148 in Washington Township around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Thankfully, however, two men, who can be called "Good Samaritans," used a saw to rescue him.
According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Shawn R. Young, 39, was driving a 2006 Kenworth eastbound. His truck traveled off the right side of the road, went over an embankment, struck a tree and overturned.
Terry L. Higgins, of Belmont-Warnock Road, Belmont, saw the truck go off the road. He got out of his own truck to see if he driver was alright. Higgins said he spotted the driver trapped inside.
With no emergency squad in sight, Higgins and another unidentified man took matters into their own hands.
Higgins said the other man came with a pickup truck and had a Sawzall. Higgins and the other man cut the driver out of the back of the truck.
Higgins said "the driver walked away. The truck can be replaced."
According to the patrol report, Young was cited for failure to control.
