Barnesville spikes Bellaire

Barnesville rallied from a game down to upend Bellaire in four in girls' high school volleyball action inside the House of Champions Thursday evening.

The Lady Shamrocks prevailed, 25-27, 25-13, 25-12 and 25-9.

Barnesville was led on the stat sheet by Hunter Weiss. She had 13 points, 13 digs and an assist. Paige Gibbons added 10 points, an ace, seven kills, three blocks and five digs. Kelsey Douglas 10 points, 11 kills, three blocks and five digs.

Marissa Burga had eight kills and four blocks, while Paige Huntsman had eight points, four kills and 13 assists and five digs. Miranda Plumly added nine kills and four digs.

Bellaire, meanwhile, was paced by Taylar Canter with 18 digs, two aces and 11 points. Mackenzie Conroy added 12 points, nine digs and two kills. Mellisa Cordy notched 14 points, two aces, 25 digs, 14 assists and six kills. Hunter Eden had six kills and eight digs, while Elisha Gillespie had five kills and five digs.

Barnesville also prevailed in the jayvee game.

St. John Central Sweeps Bishop Donahue

At Bellaire, St. John Central made quick work of invading Bishop Donahue, posting a sweep. The Lady Irish won with scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-7.

The Lady Irish were led on the stat sheet by Kristen Russell who had 12 points, five aces, six kills and 10 assists. Kaydie Coppa added eight points, three aces, two kills, 10 assists and a block. Caitlin Sliva donated 10 points, nine kills and two digs. Jessica Alvey contributed seven points, two aces, four kills and two digs. Sydney Helms had six points.

Harrison Central

Drops Pair

The Huskies fell to Edison by scores of 25-11 and 25-21.

Jesse Ledger led the way with three points, a trio of assists, seven digs and three blocks. Katie Stackhouse added six digs, while Janese Eckley had five digs.

Harrison Central also dropped a 25-22, 25-20 decision to Weir as Ledger charted 13 digs, five points and three blocks. Stackhouse had seven digs and six assists, while Eckley added 10 digs.

Paden City Roars

Past Beallsville

At Beallsville, the Wildcats (6-1) needed four games to defeat the Blue Devils, 25-20, 13-25, 25-15 and 25-23.

Maddie Stephen led Beallsville (2-2) with 15 points, 10 kills and three assists.

Ali Campbell added eight points, 11 kills, five assists and a trio of blocks. Laikyn Tubaugh chipped in 16 points, six kills and four digs.

Anna Jones had 19 assists and eight points. Katy Kiney recorded half-a-dozen kills and a like number of blocks.

Logan Cosper paced Paden City with 34 assists, 11 points and four digs. Lynnsie Parsons added 15 kills, eight digs and three assists.

Zaps River

At Sarahsville, the Zeps (6-0) remained unbeaten with a 25-17, 25-18 and 25-12 victory over the Pilots.

Kaysey King scored 11 points and charted 11 assists for the winners. Morgan Diehl had 18 kills and Kylee Kasper 17 digs.

Annie Turner recorded 16 assists and 10 digs for River.

Jensen Caretti had 10 kills. Mackenzie Marshall charted seven digs and two aces, while Mackenzie Wade had seven digs.
