MORRISTOWN After winning the opening set 25-18, host Union Local would struggle to finish dropping the next three 25-23, 25-22 and 25-12 to visiting Barnesville, Monday evening in the Hangar.
"We came out playing hard but could not keep our offense going," said a disappointed Sarah Gibeaut, head coach of Union Local. "Barnesville stepped it up and we just could not keep up."
Gibeaut was referencing the two sets where her Jets let opportunity slip away. Rallying to tie it up at 22 apiece in the second Union Local could not finish off the Shamrocks. Then in the third set with an 8 point lead the Jets let Barnesville come back to tie it up at 21 all and then rally to take the lead 2-1.
