WHEELER, Rose, 87, of Cadiz died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born May 29, 1925 in Hopedale, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Nelson and Lillian Doubt Christian.

Mrs. Wheeler was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz where she was a member of the Zella Strother Missionary Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles F. Wheeler, Jr., four grandchildren and a sister, Katherine Tyler.

She is survived by five sons: Charles Frederick Wheeler, III (Virginia) of Barnesville, Vernon Nelson Wheeler (Diane) and David Michael Wheeler all of Cadiz, Steven Douglas Wheeler (Paula) and Gerald Lee Wheeler (Gloria) all of Columbus; three daughters: Annetta Louise Cansler (Robert) of Westland, Michigan, Lillian Carol Conway of Cleveland, and Terrie Janette Fitzhugh (Paul) of Martins Ferry; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a sister, Francis West of Columbus, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Jean (Daniel) Bigsby of Smithfield; a brother-in-law, Jack Smith of Columbus; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
