FORMER STUDENTS of the Kinsman School and their guests not only had quite an array of food at their recent reunion, but they provided approximately 85 donations of items in addition to money for the St. Clairsville Council of Churches Food Pantry.

Attending the 10th annual Kinsman School Reunion at the Maynard Polish National Alliance hall were more than 75 people. The former Kinsman Grade School was located near St. Clairsville, and school building no longer exists.

Items donated for the food pantry were canned vegetables, soup, tuna fish, cereals, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, cake mixes, hand soap, toothpaste, shampoo, macaroni and cheese, paper towels, toilet tissue and more.

One former student described the covered dish dinner as "a bountiful spread of food ... most everything one can hope for at a picnic." Another individual remarked, "Same food next year - I hope so - 'tis the only day I can get so much food!"

Jim Bruno served as master of ceremonies was Jim Bruno, and Carol Wodarcyk had the invocation. Continuing her role as joke teller at the reunion was Katie Zavacky.

Among the oldest persons attending were Mary Surowka Nagy, 95, Wheeling; Albert "Bud" Dunn, 93, Bucyrus; Kathryn Kasik Zavacky, 86, St. Clairsville; and Elda Debo Borovich, 87, St. Clairsville.

Drawing the names for a fund-raising event was Martha Surowka Nagy, the oldest attendee. Winners were Margaret Gamcik, Midway; Evelyn Cheslock Kubin, Euclid; and Graham Dunn, Bucyrus.

This year's committee included Jim Bruno, Vickie Wodarcyk Dombroski, Frances Wodarcyk Gilli, Nancy McConnell Gillogly, Don Henderson, John Kafka, Norma Peck Rice, John Wodarcyk and Kathryn Kasik Zavacky.

During the annual reunion, those attending were unanimous in a decision to have another reunion next year -- at the same place and last Sunday in July.
