FINNICUM, Delmas W. "Sunny" Jr., loving husband, dad and pappy, 76, of St. Hwy 150, Adena, OH, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born March 17, 1936 in Bellaire, OH, the son of the late Delmas W. Finnicum Sr. and Irene Heyda Finnicum.
He was a retired employee of AEP in Bellaire, OH, an airforce veteran, military policeman, a Catholic by faith and was a longtime member of the Pine Valley Sportsman's Club. He had a passion for antiques, Farmall tractors and stumptown steam threshers. He was an environmentalist, a member of the American Legion and the Chambers YMCA of Wheeling, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Delmas "Billy" W. Finnicum III, and a brother, Gary Michael Finnicum.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Doris Langsdorf Finnicum; a son, John Robert Finnicum and Shebeza O'Hara of Martins Ferry, OH; a daughter, Melissa Jean Finnicum of Lancaster, OH; five sisters, Mary (Frank) Rosmon, Irene (Tom) Okel, Delma (Richard) Garrett, Karalee Miller, Shirley (Clarence) Clouse; two grandsons, Billy Jo Delmas Finnicum and his fiancee, Samantha Cook, and George Robert Finnicum.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Delmas and celebrate his life Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Monsignor George Coyne officiating. Entombment at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Full Military Honors will be conducted 1:45 p.m. Wednesday by Belmont County Council of the V.F.W.
