Bank robbery suspect arraigned

ST. CLAIRSVILLE A bank robbery suspect was arraigned in Monday, along with other pleas and sentencings.

Belmont Common Pleas Judge Jennifer L. Sargus presided.

Chad Rennicker, 24, 3735 Grasslick Road, Ripley, W. Va., was arraigned on one count of aggravated robbery, a felony of the first degree occurring May 25. He pleaded not guilty and was released on his recognizance. His status conference was set for Nov. 19, with plea agreement Dec. 17 and trial Jan. 8.

Rennicker and his brother, Brock Rennicker, were arrested in June after a standoff with the Mahoning County SWAT Team. They are accused of robbing a PNC Bank in Colerain.

Anjomo Bertram McGhee, 523 North Eighth St., was given a six month suspended sentence and two years of community controls for possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree occurring Feb. 15.

Daniel Lee Burton, 40, 65160 School St., Neffs, was sentenced to 36 months with credit for 30 months served in West Virginia on another case in 2010. This last six months will be served on community controls. He was convicted of burglary, a felony of the first degree occurring March 17, 2010.

Michael Ray Swallie, 36, 4260 Pine Alley, Bellaire, was sentenced on a count of burglary, a felony of the third degree occurring Dec. 2, 2011. He was given 186 days, six months EOCC and three years of community controls. Defense noted that Swallie has been jailed since March and no actual harm was done to the victims.

Yuan Ping Xiao, 23, 120 Ganble Ave., Elm Grove, pleaded guilty to one count attempting to compel prostitution with someone he believed to be a minor, a felony of the third degree occurring April 8, 2012. Sentencing was set for Oct. 22.

He faces up to five years and a Tier Two offender status.

Tyler Wayne Barker, 19, 64779 Nelan Road, Bellaire, pleaded guilty to theft of a motor vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree. Sentence was set for Oct. 22.

A pre-sentence investigation and victims impact statement were ordered.

A warrant was issued for Aaron Richard Jennewein, 21, 54538 Mt. Victory Road, Powhatan Point.
