KAPOLKA, William D. "Bill," 69, of Shadyside, OH, died Monday, September 24, 2012.
He was born July 9, 1943 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Andrew and Rose (Prasil) Kapolka.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Aunt Julia Wach.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 521 in Shadyside, OH. He really enjoyed hanging out with the "Crabby Pappies" at the Good Thymes Cafe. He was retired from FirstEnergy and had a part-time job as a delivery driver for Roe Lab of Martins Ferry, OH.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathleen (Burkhardt) Kapolka; two daughters, Sherry (Joseph) Kapolka-Smith of Shadyside, OH and Shelley (Joel) Ullom of Columbus, OH; his sister Virginia Schultz; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (W.C.) Moore and Phyllis Burkhardt, and his cousin, Stanley Wach, all of Shadyside, OH. Pappy will also be dearly missed by his two granddaughters, Gwyneth Kapolka and Maggie Ullom.
In honoring Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral liturgy with Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Samuel Saprano as Celebrant.
