LEWIS, Paschal “Pat” Francis

LEWIS, Paschal "Pat" Francis, died peacefully at the Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville, OH on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

The son of the late Vincent Luisi Lewis and Rose Ianzito Lewis. He was born August 14, 1927 in Bellaire, OH, where he lived prior to moving to Akron, OH in 1946. He returned home to Belmont County in 2011.

He graduated from Bellaire High School, attended the University of Akron and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the Goodyear Aerospace Corporation (Akron), Quality Control, Wheel and Brake Division.

Prior to his return to the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, he was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Akron. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 117, charter member of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., a lifetime member of the United Auto Workers, a life member of the Bellaire Alumni Association and the Sons of Italy Lodge 754.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Lewis, nephew, Albert Lewis and his great- nephew, Robert Williams.

Surviving are his sister, Mary Lewis of St. Clairsville, OH, sister-in-law, Peg Lewis Rinkes of Shadyside, OH, nephew, Vince (Sandy) Lewis of Shadyside, nieces, Patrice (Robert) Williams of Shadyside, OH and Penny Lewis-Fox of St. Clairsville, OH. Also great-nieces and great-nephew, Sherry Lewis (Clint) Wach, Jill Lewis, Brad (Margo) Lewis, Erica Williams (Chris) Lotte, Natalie Fox and Jennifer Fox and great-great- nephews, Anthony and Chase Wach, Angelo Brad Lewis and Luke Lotte and a great-great-niece, Paisley Jo Lotte.

A devout Catholic, an avid sports fan, a dependable and generous family member and loyal friend with a great sense of humor, Pat will be missed by all ... A life well lived.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, OH, on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, OH with Fr. Daniel Heusel as Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, OH.

Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct Military Services on Wednesday at 5 p.m. followed by the Sons of Italy Lodge 754 services at 5:30 p.m. and Vigil at 6 p.m.
