Barnesville netters 17-3

Barnesville improved to 17-3 Thursday night in high school volleyball action with a clean sweep of Bellaire.

The Shamrocks won by scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-18.

Hunter Weiss led the way with 10 points, nine digs and four aces. Kelsey Douglas added 10 kills, five points, four digs and two blocks. Sydney Bruce chipped in 17 digs, five points and a pair of assists, while Paige Huntsman had 14 assists, 14 digs and five points. Marissa Burga donated nine kills, seven points and four digs. Miranda plumly had eight kills and five digs. Raquel Bahmer charted seven kills.

Taylar Canter had 18 digs for the Big Reds. Cari Crozier added six kills and five digs. Mackenzie Conroy had 10 points, nine digs and three assists. Hunter Eden had 10 points, four digs and three aces.

Barnesville also completed an unbeaten JV?season at 18-0.

Indian Creek

scores sweep of UL

Indian Creek posted three straight victories over Union Local in a Thursday evening match by scores of 25-8, 25-22, 25-9.

Stat leaders for the Lady Jets included: Carly Schafer (seven digs, eight assists); Shayla Otto (seven digs, three kills); Megan Nagy (five digs); Sarah Sheppard (four kills, three blocks); Kaylie Cole (five digs); Gabby Smolenak (four digs).

The Creek's Whitney Martin charted nine kills and six blocks. Bre Berryman contributed eight kills and two blocks. Brey Mays totaled six kills, six digs and four aces.

River High swept past Bishop Donahue in a Thursday match by scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-18.

River stat leaders included: Annie Turner (17 points, 28 assists); Brielle Williams (nine kills, six points); Leslie Young (eight kills); Jensen Caretti (14 kills, nine blocks); Hannah Jones (eight points, 29 digs); Mackenzie Marshall (nine points, nine points); Mackenzie Wade (11 points, eight digs); Monica Curtis (five points, 11 digs).

Monroe Central

falls to Lady Zeps

Shenandoah's Lady Zeps clinched the Pioneer Valley Conference title with a Thursday night triumph over Monroe Central. The Zeps prevailed in four games, 25-19, 17-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Shenandoah's Morgan Diehl delivered 29 kills and eight blocks. Ashley Zwick tallied 18 points, 11 kills and 13 digs. Jessica Long contributed 24 assists. Michaela Warner donated 22 digs.

For the 16-3 Lady Seminoles, Chelsie Roberts charted nine points and 12 kills. Cameron Brock tallied 10 points and 13 assists. Chelsie Tewanger totaled nine points and eight kills. Amanda Haslam and Anne LaFollette contributed 14 and 12 digs, respectively.
