Times Leader

The Ohio High School Athletic Association formally announced Friday that St. John Central High School will have to forfeit its victory against Bridgeport during the first week of the football season for use of an ineligible player. The Fighting Irish won the game, 14-6.

However, the Irish used a player who was deemed ineligible by OHSAA transfer rules.

The change in both teams' records and computer standings will be recognized when the OHSAA announces its new computer poll on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs host Beallsville tonight, while the Fighting Irish host Sherman, W.Va. on Saturday.
