ST. CLAIRSVILLE - A Bethesda man appeared before Belmont County Common Pleas Judge John M. Solovan II Thursday and pleaded guilty to possession of a bulk amount of Schedule 2 prescription drugs.

Prosecution amended the charge against James Damico, 47, 103 Washington Ave., from a felony of the second degree to one of the third degree due to the amount of the substance and the plea agreement. His sentence was set for Dec. 21. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered. He will forfeit $8,182. He faces a maximum of 36 months.

Assistant Prosecutor Helen Yonak noted that this arrest was the result of a yearlong investigation and was one of the final cases of Tim Zdanski, late drug task force commander.

Damico is also awaiting sentence for trafficking charges of the third and fourth degree in other courts and a child endangering charge is pending.
