THE CILLES Building at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Main Street in Bridgeport was demolished during the rerouting of U.S. 40 through the village during the late 1950s. This work was done to eliminate the Bridgeport bottleneck. South of the building was the statue of the World War I soldier, which was moved across the highway to the park area as a result of the road construction. Photo Courtesy/Helen Nevada Young
