Four weeks ago, the Times Leader's annual Holiday Sparkle contest opened for entries. So far, we've only received three. I suppose you can convince me with statements like, "It was way too warm to put up Christmas decorations," or "I refuse to believe Thanksgiving is less than a week away so I'm just living in denial by not decorating yet." But for those of you who already submitted your photos, kudos to you! Way to get into that holiday spirit!
In case you missed my last announcement, Holiday Sparkle is a special section that will be published on Sunday, Dec. 16 showcasing holiday light displays in the area. To be included in the section, all you have to do is send us your best decorated Christmas tree and decorated house (outside) photos. What? That's it? YES! That's really all you need to do!
However, procrastinators beware - we will ONLY publish the first 16 house photos and the first 16 Christmas tree photos we receive. We must receive your photos by Dec. 7 if you wish to be included in the section.
Your only incentive isn't to get your decorations up before your neighbors. Just because we love the sparkle of the holidays, and just because we like giving, we're giving the lucky people who submit the first 16 photos in each category a gift card from either of our contest sponsors, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery or the Imperial Teachers Store.
Yes, you read that correctly. All you have to do is send in a photo of your decorated tree or home (outside) and we will 1. Publish it in the Holiday Sparkle section if you're one of the first 16 and 2. Send you a gift from from one of our sponsors.
That's right! How's that for the season of giving? We know, it sounds too good to be true but it IS true! All you have to do is just send us your photo!
Please send your best, high quality photo with information including your name, address and a phone number where we can reach you during the day should we have any questions to email@example.com. You can also mail or drop off your photo in person to Holiday Sparkle, c/o The Times Leader, 200 South 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, 43935. Only one entry per household, please.
Why are you sitting there reading this? Go! Get your picture and send it in!
