CHRISTY, Geraldine, 84, of Ashley, OH, formerly of Hopedale, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the home of her son, Ralph in Hopedale.
She was born March 15, 1928 in St. Clairsville, OH, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gabel. She was the store manager of So-Fro Fabrics in Steubenville and Columbus, Ohio, and was a former member of the D of A.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (Spider) Christy, Sr. in 1977; a son, James Christy who was killed in the Vietnam War; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Donald (Dixie) Christy of Unionport, Ralph (Darlene) Christy, Jr. of Hopedale, and Joseph (Vandy) Christy of California; three daughters, Jonnetta Appolloni of St. Clairsville, Barbara Glessner of Toronto, and Peggy Christy (Mark) DaVia of Ashley, OH; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
